BPA READING PLAN
2006 - 2009
Executive
Summary
The BPA 2006 – 2009 Reading Plan has been crafted to
support our School Improvement Plan Goal 3 Student Performance in the area of
Using available resources, diagnostic assessment tools,
targeted intervention, continuous progress monitoring and innovative
programming techniques it is the goal of the BPA that:
All students regardless of diversity and
special needs placement will be reading at / or above grade level as measured
by the FCAT SSS or the Stanford Achievement Test (STA-10).
Under this plan, Reading Level I and II students, AIP, LEP
/ ESOL, ESE, Economically Disadvantaged and those considered ‘at-risk’ will be
specifically targeted for programming intervention.
The centerpiece of the BPA Reading Plan is the adoption of
the practice of rigorous assessment and the use of data driven intervention, the
provision of a differentiated and standardized scientifically defensible
instructional curricula based on individual student needs through the
introduction of multiage reading programming across all grade levels (K-3)
under highly qualified teachers, and frequent progress monitoring through
continual assessment to expected Grade Level benchmarks and the Florida State
Sunshine Standards.
In addition, the BPA will employ other strategies to
promote early literacy and fluency which are found in subsequent areas of this
plan.
This plan will be annually evaluated by the SAC and the BPA
Board of Directors, based upon individualized annual student learning gains
performance data from mandated District and State Standardized Tests; namely
the Florida Comprehensive Assessment Test Reading SSS, and the Stanford
Achievement Test – 10 Reading Strands.

BPA TECHNOLOGY PLAN
2006 - 2009
Executive Summary
The BPA 2006 – 2009 School
Improvement Technology Plan has been principally derived from the Educational
Technology Plan for the State of Florida 2004, a comparison of our school’s
currently available technological resources to those within the Monroe County
School District (MCSD), and our District’s goals for classroom infrastructure
as contained within its Technology Plan 2006.
Based upon our individual
school needs for the provision of public school education (K-3) and the
availability of current and emergent District Technology, it is our goal to
ensure the equity of district-wide public school access for both BPA teachers
and students to available District Information Technology resources and funding.
Through the provision of
equitable access to current district-wide public school information technologies,
it is our primary objective to promote the effective use of technology to
implement the Sunshine Standards to improve the performance of all students at
the BPA.
